IELTS Speaking Questions

Part 1 Questions

Part 1 consists of general questions about yourself, your family, your studies, your work, and your interests. Here are some example questions:

• Can you tell me about your hometown?
• What do you like to do in your free time?
• Do you prefer to study alone or in a group?

Part 2 Questions

In Part 2, you will be given a topic to talk about for 1-2 minutes. You will have 1 minute to prepare your answer. Here are some example questions:

• Describe a memorable holiday you have had.
• Talk about a famous person you admire.
• Describe a book that you enjoyed reading.

Part 3 Questions

Part 3 consists of a discussion related to the topic from Part 2. The questions are more abstract and require you to express your opinions and ideas. Here are some example questions:

• Why do you think people enjoy traveling?
• How can technology help us to learn new things?
• Do you think it's important to preserve traditional customs and practices?
